So I know rabbit owners have a reputation for being a little crazy, but knowing something was off with my girl was driving me crazy. Having Dr Sarah take my concerns seriously and treat my bunny has totally brought me to tears. Watching her regain her strength and old self is so relieving, and my girl always has a great time visiting their office!!

Today I had an emergency with my beloved bearded dragon. Anyone who owns reptiles knows how difficult it can be to find a veterinarian experienced with them. I cannot say enough about the incredible care we received from Dr. Sarah and the wonderful staff at Burloak Animal Hospital. I was able to drop E-Lie off early before our scheduled appointment because I felt he was deteriorating quickly. Dr. Sarah made time to see him between appointments and even called me before our original appointment time to give me an update. She truly went above and beyond in the care she provided. I also want to highlight the amazing vet techs and receptionists — every single one was kind, caring, and so accommodating. From answering my questions patiently to comforting E-Lie while I wasn’t there, they made a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you to the entire team for treating him like he mattered. It is such a relief to know there is a veterinary team that cares so deeply for all animals — even the scaly ones.

We have been bringing our cats to the Burloak Animal Hospital for over 25 years, and have always found the staff to be extremely efficient, caring and compassionate. Going above and beyond for the care of our animals. Always following up with 'phone calls to check on them after each visit. They are like family, and always treated our cats like their own. We recently lost our beloved cat, and Dr. Waters and Dr. McKinnon did everything in their power to make the transition to Rainbow Bridge as peaceful as possible, We are so thankful to them, and the rest of the staff. We highly recommend The Burloak Animal Hospital for the best of care for your precious pets. We will definitely be back for their wonderful care, with a new cat as soon as our hearts heal. We now have a new cat and her name is Annabelle. From the very first phone call, the receptionist and the team at Burloak Animal Hospital were detailed, honest, and incredibly kind. This, along with their excellent reputation with all kinds of pets, made us confident in our choice. We brought our rabbit, Coco (our Mini Holland Lop), in for her spay, and the level of compassionate care shown was outstanding. Every single person we encountered, from the doctors and vet techs to the receptionists, was wonderfully kind and professional. The vet techs are clearly experienced with rabbits, and the surgeon is highly experienced, knowledgeable, and reassuring throughout the entire process. What truly stood out was how consistently they followed up after the procedure. Their check-ins and experienced guidance during Coco’s recovery were incredibly reassuring, especially during the critical post-op period. We saw a noticeable improvement in Coco just two days after the procedure, which really reinforced that we had chosen a clinic offering the best aftercare, which was so reassuring. When Coco was released, a vet tech gave us a very helpful, live demonstration on how to give her medications. The clinic itself is clean and welcoming, and it’s clear they confidently care for cats, dogs, and exotic animals alike, which speaks volumes about their expertise. Thoughtful touches like cozy blankets, a private recovery room, and the gentle, careful way they handled Coco truly set them apart. We don’t live in the area, but it is absolutely worth the drive for this level of care. I highly recommend Burloak Animal Hospital for your rabbit, they are a team you can truly trust. Yesterday I took my budgie to Burloak Animal Hospital because he was showing signs of being sick, and I was honestly so worried. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel calm and supported. Everyone was super kind and understanding. Dr. Sarah, who checked my budgie, was amazing. She was so gentle with him and treated him with so much love and care, like he was her own pet. She explained everything in a really clear and patient way, and she never made me feel rushed or confused. I felt really comfortable the whole time, and it meant a lot to see how much love and attention they gave my little bird. Overall, I had such a positive experience. You can tell they genuinely care about animals and the people who bring them in. I’m really grateful for how they handled everything. I definitely recommend them.

Last Monday was my first time here and I felt very welcomed and well cared for along with my two baby ferrets. Margaret and Dr. McKinnon were excellent—kind, warm, and supportive—and they guided me through the entire process. Excellent place and service. My babies got their vaccines and a complete check up. We had a wonderful time here! My bird had never been to the vet before, but she felt extremely comfortable with everyone in this clinic. It was quick and easy to book an initial appointment with Dr. Sarah, and she was very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. We were given many options for management of various issues and we got some great advice for her care. Margaret and the rest of the staff were also very kind and welcoming. We really loved the fact that photos were allowed! Thank you so much, everyone!

I have a bearded dragon who had stopped eating and was very lethargic. This place was referred to me by the vet who usually sees my cats (she is excellent, but does not specialize in reptiles). The staff are all incredibly kind and the vet did not rush our consultation at all. She took the time to answer all of my questions and to treat Spike (who is now enjoying the company of her kitty siblings again and has perked up considerably). This clinic deserves more than 5 stars. We have a Cuban False Chameleon who was ill. We were nervous about finding a qualified and experienced vet. Dr. Sarah was absolutely amazing - she provided a through exam and gave us options for the diagnostic process. Her follow-up and willingness to answer questions has been amazing. I can highly recommend this clinic for anyone with lizards and other exotic pets!

We called the clinic because our lovebird, Skittles, was sick and got an appointment the day of. Dr. Sarah was very knowledgeable and prescribed her medication that helped her recover in a week. The staff was extremely kind and courteous with our follow-up calls. We are grateful that they were able to help our Skittles get back to her cheerful and playful self!

I'm surprised I haven't wrote a review here sooner. Burloak Animal Hospital has some of the most compassionate and knowledgeable staff I have encountered in my 28 years of being a pet owner. Dr. Hale, Sabina, and the rest of the RVT's have provided us with overwhelming support during times when my loved ones desperately needed care. Back in 2021, my bunny had been neutered at another clinic, and the incision had repeatedly kept opening up - I suspect an error had been made in the initial surgery. The initial clinic had tried several times to seal the area properly, but ultimately kept opening up leaving him bleeding with an open wound. Burloak Animal Hospital had taken us in last minute, responding to my emails of distress even past clinic hours. They were able to successfully do laser surgery on him, and were thorough with follow ups and additional appointments and after care. We do not live in the area, but now go here annually for his regular checkups as I would not ever go anywhere else for him. In recent times, our pup had suddenly fallen ill and his health continued to decline - his usual clinic was closed for the day. Again, Burloak Animal Hospital had taken us in last minute on a weekend to do a thorough assessment and tests, and called around and referred us to another emergency clinic locally to look after him overnight. Thank you to everyone on staff for continuously taking care of our little family.

Everyone here is so good with our three cats. Even the temperamental one. AND they look after exotics. They helped us when our bearded dragon was sick. Every person we have interacted with has been friendly, welcoming and professional.

We took our 2 dogs for boarding. One of them is a Senior dog with a medical condition. They both were so well taken care of that I don’t think they wanted to come home. Whenever I called to check in the staff were very patient and informative. Special shout out to the young lady who cared for them ….. We had cancelled travel plans this summer because of our Seniors medical condition but decided to give it a try. We needn’t have worried because it was great ! Thanks again.

Great place to go for your small critter needs! The vets who saw my little lady rat were gentle, caring and loved to see her which is rare for rats. The neuter they completed on one of my boys was beautiful and no post operative issues or threats of picking open the incision! Will happily return to the clinic when needed. Thank you Burloak!

My birds are like family, so it's important they have the finest care. It's the people that make things happen, and the people at Burloak are the best. Believe me, I've been to other vets where I was treated poorly, as just another number really, leaving my birds stressed. I was pleasantly surprised when I brought my flock to Oakville. The staff obviously love what they do, and the doctors are incredible. They have, on several occasions, gone beyond the call of duty and managed to save a bird where most other places might have considered it hopeless. These people are the ones you want caring for your birds. I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere...... Keep up the fabulous work folks. Well done. Shout out to Trouble.....(googling earplugs now)

I can’t say enough good things about Burloak Animal Hospital in Oakville, ON. It’s not easy to find avain vets who truly understand avian health, but this team clearly knows their stuff. The Dr's took the time to explain everything clearly and handled my bird gently and confidently, which put both of us at ease. The clinic is clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with birds in mind — quiet exam rooms, perches, and stress-minimizing procedures. My birds came in for minor issues, and thanks to their quick diagnosis and treatment plan, they're doing great. Now I take all my birds to this clinic. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional avian vet clinic, this is the place. I wouldn’t trust my bird’s care to anyone else!
